Welcome to ConfrontJS, the premier conference for medium level and advanced front-end developers. Our conference is designed to bring together industry leaders, developers, and enthusiasts who are eager to share their knowledge and experience in the latest front-end technologies and trends.
As Front-end developers, we all know that forms can get really messy, but what if I told you that there is a library out there that can make your life much easier. In this talk, I'll introduce react-hook-form, a library that started to gain more and more popularity. It is super light, intuitive, performant, and flexible with easy-to-use validation. We'll cover its basics through a live code example and learn about its benefits. In addition, I will share with you my thoughts about what to look for when choosing a library to use.
Let's face it, there are many advantages to using GraphQL compared to REST APIs. But if you strip it down to the network protocol, it's using HTTP just as REST. We developers need to write a lot of imperative code to retrieve data to display in our applications and handle state. With GraphQL you can, when using the correct libraries, decrease the amount of code needed around data fetching and state-management. Next to increased flexibility, better performance and most of all an improved developer experience. In this talk I show GraphQL's magic and how (in the end) it's just HTTP.
What can software developers learn from doctors, scientists and martial artists? During my years as a developer I’ve written lots of software. Ranging from data related like image processing, sound analysis and synthesis, and data analysis to working on fullstack web applications. I’ve picked up some skills in various fields like performance, design patterns and devops. In this talk I’m going to share with you the one thing that makes me a better developer than my younger self - automated tests. You will learn how tests can improve your code, how to write better tests, how to use code coverage and how it is all related to medicine, housekeeping work and martial arts.
